The Giants and Dolphins matched each other blow for blow in the first half. In the game’s opening quarter a forced fumble by Landon Collins set up Josh Brown for the game’s first points making it 3-0 New York.
Miami quickly responded with a dynamic rushing attack breaking tackle after tackle. The drive ended with a Lamar Miller rushing touchdown to give the Phins the 7-3 lead.
The Giants would respond early in the second quarter as a drive led by the Giants rushing attack specifically Rashad Jennings who ran for 30 yards on the drive set up the Giants at the six yard line where Eli Manning found Rueben Randle for a six yard score making it 10-7 New York.
Miami would go onto score 10 unanswered after a second Lamar Miller rushing touchdown and then a field goal after an Andre Williams fumble.
New York however would respond before the half. A 45 yard completion to Odell Beckham JR ended up being a 60 yard gain after a roughing the passer penalty on the Dolphins setting up New York in the red zone, where Eli Manning would hit Will Tye for a five yard touchdown pass making the halftime score 17-17.
Miami would score the first points of the game’s second half as Dolphin Quarterback Ryan Tannehill found Kenny Stills for a 47 yard score giving Miami a seven point lead. This touchdown would be the last Miami score of the game as it was all Big Blue afterwards.
On the ensuing Giants possession Eli Manning found Odell Beckham JR in the end zone for a six yard touchdown pass to tie the game up at 24.
The team’s entered the fourth quarter tied at 24. The Giants first drive of the fourth quarter started at their own four yard line. However it would only take two plays to find the end zone.
After a 12 yard Rashad Jennings run. Eli Manning found a wide open Odell Beckham JR for an 84 yard touchdown putting the Giants on top for good.
The Giants defense was able to finally close out a game in the fourth quarter shutting down the Dolphins and allowing Eli Manning to run out the clock giving the Giants a 31-24 win. The Giants with the win remain in a three way first place tie in the NFC East at 6-7.
