NASHVILLE TN- The Packers were blown out on Sunday, 47-25. In the first quarter, Tennessee got off to a hot start with a 75-yard touchdown run from Demarco Murray. Early the Packers were down, and they would
never catch up. Tennessee kept tacking it on as they eventually expanded their early lead to 21 points. Finally, 5 minutes into the second quarter Rodgers strikes back with a 1-yard touchdown pass to his favorite receiver, Jordy Nelson. Although the Titans wouldn’t let them gain any momentum as on their very next drive Mariota hit receiver Rishard Matthews for a 32-yard Touchdown pass to extend their lead. The Packers attempted to keep their momentum but fell short as they settled for a field goal. Tennessee took advantage as Mariota hit Kendall Wright for a 6-yard touchdown and that was really where it looked like the Packers were doomed. Throughout the rest of the game he Packers attempted to claw back, but their defense couldn’t stop the vicious Titans offense. The game showed a lot about this Packers team, and whether they still have a chance at the playoffs. With this loss it puts them 1 game back of the Vikings and Lions, against the Vikings the Packers lost by three, although that was during the Vikings very hot start, they have cooled off since then. This will definitely be one of the tighter races down the stretch, and I do think that Detroit will win it. With Minnesota lacking a good quarterback/running back they aren’t in prime position to make any sort of playoff run. While the Packers, who have one of the better offenses in the NFL as well as the best run defense, their secondary is lacking due to injuries to their starting DBs, Sam Shields and Damarious Randall. This has also been a product of losing Casey Hayward, who was signed last year by the San Diego Chargers. Essentially, this race is made up of great teams stricken by injuries who are still clawing towards that playoffs.
