Manchester United vs. Liverpool Preview

                                   Manchester United vs. Liverpool preview

Coming off their recent away thriller against Newcastle this past Tuesday, Manchester United now travel to Anfield where on Sunday, they will be hosted by Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool team. With this obviously being one of the biggest rivalries in the history of the Premier League, there is a strong expectation that both teams will put up a strong fight. During this game, Klopp and Van Gaal will both face great amounts of pressure with both United and Liverpool in need of a win. A win for the sixth-placed red devils would see them open up a six-point gap on their opponents as well as the possibility of moving up to fourth place. This could throw some serious damage in Liverpool’s hopes of achieving a top four finish in the Premier League.

The last time these two sides met was back in September, when Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-1 and Christian Benteke scored from a stunning bicycle-kick set piece. However, this was back when Brendan Rodgers was still the Liverpool boss. Now with Jurgen Klopp being the new head coach, it will be interesting on how the German imposes his tactics into his team.

Despite his struggles on the pitch, Wayne Rooney has recently put on some notable performances, showing signs of improvement in his gameplay and form. If he can play like he did during the 3-3 tie against Newcastle, Manchester United might have the edge over their hosts who have recently struggled on defense. Hopefully this matchup will be filled with great excitement and goals from both sides.
