Gameweek 24 came and went as the all of the teams played midweek after taking a quick break for the FA Cup (English national cup).

Notable Match Recaps:

Two Premier League heavyweights came up against each other as Leicester hosted Liverpool. Leicester won 2-0 as Jamie Vardy secured a brace. His goal will surely be up for goal of the season after he scored a sumptuous volley from 30 yards out to open the scoring. Leicester then went on to get a second and win the match comfortably 2-0, making it another frustrating night for Jurgen Klopp and his men.

Manchester United won 3-0 at home against Stoke, easing pressure on manager Louis Van Gaal. United were able to notch two first half goals from Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial. Martial scored a fantastic curled effort into the top corner from the edge of box, while Wayne Rooney added to his goal tally in the second half. This win will help propel United towards the top four or the coveted Champions League spots.

Tottenham visited Norwich as well, and came away with an emphatic 3-0 win. A goal from Dele Alli inside of two minutes set up a great performance, with Harry Kane bagging two goals as well. This win sent Tottenham up to third in the league table, showing their potential to challenge for the top spots that are so widely coveted by all.

Title challengers Arsenal came up against Southampton, and could only manage a 0-0 draw, as Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster came up with some magnificent saves to keep the Saints in the match. That meant that Arsenal dropped points once again, making them drop to fourth in table and hindering their chances to make win the title in this topsy-turvy season for the Barclays Premier League.

Sergio Aguero scored the only goal for Manchester City which lead them to victory against a struggling Sunderland side who are desperate to pick up points anywhere they can. This keeps them three points behind leaders Leicester leading up to their match this weekend.

Everton defeated Newcastle 3-0 at home on Wednesday, with Ross Barkley grabbing two goals. He scored a sublime solo goal after a great, winding run into Newcastle’s box before finishing with aplomb.
